Feel Good Friday is when we enjoy life’s simple pleasures to the fullest! But what does this mean?

Well, it can mean something different to everyone, as after a long hard-working week we all like to do different things to unwind. So why is it important? The answer is that it reminds us that we are only human and should be grateful for things we have in our lives that we might take for granted. Such as, having a roof over our heads and being in a position where we can take control of our lives and what happens next. So how can we make our Fridays feel good? Well, I think it’s important to acknowledge that we have earned some ‘me time’. Even if its only a small part of your day you should allocate some time to acknowledge that you have earned a break. This does not have to be a well-thought out plan scheduled each week at the same time but it can be doing something spontaneous or something as simple as making a chamomile tea that lasts for less than half an hour. The most important thing is to have some ‘me time’ to lift your spirit.

What feel good Friday means to my friend…

For my best friend, feel good Friday means to spend a few hours with her phone switched off and watch a movie that is accompanied with strawberries dipped in chocolate, a large packet of crisps and a glass of pomegranate juice. By spending a few hours each Friday night to do something she enjoys it makes all the hard work even more worth it! It also allows her to reflect on the week when winding down. Usually, straight after the movie has finished she mentions grabbing a post-it note and writing a to do list for the weekend, then getting ready for bed. Watching a movie is not an extravagant event yet it is something that makes her feel good on a Friday!

If you are thinking this sounds like something you would enjoy to do this feel good Friday but do not know what to watch then here are some movie recommendations…

· Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone (2001)

· The Departed (2006)

· Iron Man (2008)

· The Hunger Games (2012)

· The Judge (2014)

· Baby driver (2017)

· Fast and Furious: Hobby and Shaw (2019)

· Eternals (2021)

· Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)

· Cruella (2021)

What feel good Friday means to me…

For me, feel good Friday means simply enjoying my morning coffee whilst listening to some music. Though, this is a simple thing I do everyday it’s those moments where you reflect on the week and take a breather from it all that are some of the most important.

By doing this every Friday I feel that all bit better by reflecting and thinking about what has went well in my week, what did not go well in the week and how I can make it better the following week. Also, savouring the taste of my perfectly made caramel coffee clutched in my hands gives me time to be happy simply for having a few moments to myself. These precious moments when drinking my caramel coffee remind me of the simple pleasures in life are important and even more so now over the past couple of years during the pandemic that we have to take happiness where we can find it.

… For me, this is drinking my coffee on a Friday whilst listening to music and fully appreciating the day ahead.

If you are sat reading this thinking “this sounds like a great addition to my Fridays” then here are some suggestions of some beverages you can add to your Fridays…

· Caramel coffee

· Vanilla latte

· Iced coffee

· Lemon and lime water

· Green tea

· Cinnamon coconut latte

· Hot chocolate

· Berry smoothie

· Carrot, orange and ginger juice

· Mango juice

Whatever you decide to do this feel good Friday I hope you spend a few moments enjoying lives simplest pleasures whether its indulging yourself with a drink or watching a movie to end your day.

I hope everyone has a great feel good Friday!
